SOFT AS SNOW
The Norwegian duo Soft as Snow makes expansive electronic synthpop that pulls the listener down into a cavernous underground rave. As can be expected from an act named after a My Bloody Valentine song, creative use of noise is one of Soft as Snow’s key philosophies. Their warped vision of pop can in part be attributed to Oda’s background in performance art and to Øystein’s drumming for various noise rock bands in Oslo’s underground scene. Their debut full length ‘Deep Wave’ is out on Houndstooth 6th of April. The album is followed by a surreal 3D-animated video directed by London based artist Conrad Pack, and two 8-bit-psychedelic videos directed by the duo.

This is industrial music as it should sound… never becoming dark in a gothic kind of way, never becoming weak dance music in a new school kind of way, and without getting lost in noise just for the sake of noise. Enfant Terrible (Gooiland Elektro/Vrystaete) is an independent label with 100% DIY ethics. Active since 2004 and releasing single editions on vinyl only with a selection of sounds ranging from elektro-wave to dark techno to ambient. Next to that label boss M. is organizing events since 1999. M. started out as a new wave dj and playing a lot of EBM, elektro-wave and new beat ever since… and anything else related. Playing back2back with Alacidus on various occasions who has a background in acid and techno... expect dark beats!
