"Protect Our Water" Global Action

Earth Guardian has launched the Protect Our Future campaign which includes four yearly opportunites to collaborate with our global community to protect the earth, the water, the air and the atmosphere.

This is our SECOND global action is to Protect Our Water one of the most precisous and endangered resources on the planet. We invite you to gather your families, and communities to join together in a concerted effort to honor and protect the sacred water in your communities. Some ideas EG youth came up with that you could model would be to organize a beach, river or lake clean up and while you are there maybe do a little ceremony to honor the water. You could also plan a educational event and show films like Tapped about water and the detrimental impacts of plastic bottles. One community wants to build a community well and another to provide potable water to those that are in need. (Please apply for our mini grant to help with your project by sending your project idea and your budget to Olivia@earthguardians.org the deadline has been extended to May 30th)

Here in Boulder Colorado working with a local scientist and water specialist, we will be testing water from different water sources to report to the community the chemicals they find in the water from pesticides, to herbicides, to fertilizers and possibly other chemical toxins found in the water down river from our local coal plant, and fracking wells such as mercury and lead and other highly toxic chemicals. What they discover will be shared with the local media to educate the greater community about the condition of our water and the harmful chemicals in our water sources. It will culminate in a clean up of our beautiful river Boulder Creek and a community celebration. Meet at the Boulder Public Library at high noon. (On the Canyon side)
